Economic Outputs

  • Creation of 40 - 60 managed workspaces
  • Creation of 80 new jobs within 3 years of operation
  • Safeguarding of 35 jobs

  • Safeguarding of 25 enterprises
  • Annual spend of £150,000 at local sandwich shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants by tenants and visitors.
  • Annual spend of £150,000 at local music and computer shops
  • The cluster achieving £5m turnover within 5 years
  • Electro Works Development Trust achieving annual turnover of £250,000.
  • Creation of demand for other local premises once project established.
  • Contribution to the creation of the 24 hour leisure economy in London Road and John Street.
  • 120 enterprises advised

Social and Community Outputs
The general social and community benefits of creative businesses located in local neighbourhoods is outlined elsewhere. Electro Works will provide:

  • Jobs and enterprise activities prioritised for local people
  • Individual placements and training within successful music businesses
  • Music education programmes for all ages with a focus on young people (0-21 years old)
  • Cultural festivals and events and family activity days
  • Drawing in creative people to work and live in Sharrow.
  • Inclusion through musical activities and employment of individuals previously excluded from mainstream education.
  • A major project tackling gender discrimination within the music industry.
  • Positive measures to include members of black and other minority ethnic communities in all aspects of the project.
  • Environmental improvement through the regeneration of a heritage site, extending later to other buildings in Little Sheffield.
  • Contribution to the growth of a network of not-for-profit social enterprises in Sharrow.
  • Retention of successful cultural enterprises within Sheffield and the local economy.
